The Florida Supreme Court entered an opinion Thursday that will impact the state rules of civil procedure and could significantly increase the workload for litigators.

Bruce Berman, a shareholder atCarlton Fields in Miami who has published a book on the Florida Rules of Civil Procedure that is updated annually, said a commonality in the state Supreme Court’s two opinions is an attempt to streamline cases and increase efficiency.
