With the spring sunshine only just recently making an appearance and the summer holidays still a good few weeks away, the last thing you’re probably thinking about at the moment is organising your Christmas party. We get it, it doesn’t feel quite right to be talking about mince pies and mulled wine in May but once the summer holidays are over and all decision makers and teams are back in the office in September, demand for your ideal venue will be high if not already gone as the festive countdown begins.

The earlier you are able to check availability with venues and suppliers, the more options you are likely to have on the table; it may only be May but I’ve already received a number of Christmas enquiries over here at PLE HQ and dates are filling up fast! Although our industry has seen a move to some companies holding festive events in November and January, the preference amongst the majority of my clients still tends to be a Thursday or Friday in December which only leaves around 6 potential dates to choose from. By planning ahead, you not only have a wider choice of venues to choose from but there’s also the added benefit of ‘early bird’ booking incentives that some venues are offering; whether it’s an upgrade for the organizer or extra fizz on your table, these offers are there to entice you to book early (and at the same time be rewarded for your fabulous organization skills!) There’s also the added benefit of getting the date in the diary so that everyone can attend as well as being safe in the knowledge that one job is ticked off your list at what can often be a crazy time of the year.

Horizon 22: A New Venue with Spectacular Views
One of the newer venues to open in the capital is Horizon 22 which is available for private hire from 7.00pm-3am (how’s that for a late finish!), located on Level 58 of the City of London’s tallest building, 22 Bishopsgate which is the highest free public viewing gallery in Europe. Offering spectacular views of London’s iconic landmarks, this one is sure to wow at Christmas time for evening events.
Kent House Knightsbridge: A Themed Party Delight
Or perhaps a themed evening appeals and if so, exclusive use of Kent House in Knightsbridge might just fit the bill with their Gatsby Grand Winter Ball where the allure of Gatsby’s Jazz Age meets the magic of Christmas.
